Welcome to our first e-newsletter!

It can be hard to keep up on current events with so many places to find information. We'll be sending a monthly update to let you know what is happening and what is new at the Maquoketa Public Library. We'll share upcoming events, new materials, special announcements, and more!

Upcoming Events
The Friends of the Maquoketa Public Library will be at McDonalds from 4-7 PM selling cookie certificates, all $5 for each dozen goes straight to the Friends! They will also receive a percentage of food sales during these hours. Stop by for dinner and grab certificates for a couple dozen cookies and help support the library.

Jenn Loeb is the first Iowa woman to climb Mount Everest. She has conquered 6 of the world's 7 tallest peaks and plans to climb Antarctica's Vinson Massif. Join us to learn about Jenn's Everest climb. She will display some of her gear and answer questions following the presentation.

Highlights
If you've missed story time, Lego club, and Super Saturdays, you don't have much longer to wait. Children's programming will resume September 1st.
Over 100 people booked their staycation with us in June! We selected 110 books for readers looking to get away without leaving home. Our next blind date with a book program will be in October when we celebrate all things spooky!
Over 150 teens and adults have signed up for our Old School Summer Reading Program! There's still a month to participate, stop by the front desk for a reading log. Complete your log and you're guaranteed a prize at a local business and you'll be entered to win $100 in Chamber Bucks.
Thank you to all who participated and completed our Children's Summer Reading Program. Over 150 kids signed up! We will be drawing names for prizes soon and contacting the winners.
