It's hard to believe Summer Reading is over already. Thanks to those that participated and don't forget to turn in your logs to earn your prize entries! It's August and we're slowing down a bit, taking vacations, and getting ready for school to start. We've still go lots of exciting new titles coming this month, check out the end of the email for just a few you might want to check out!
Upcoming Events
Summer Reading may be over, but there's still time to turn in your logs and enter to win some fabulous prizes! We will be doing our prize drawing on Thursday, August 4th so turn in your logs by end of business Wednesday, August 3rd.

McDonald's

Eat out for a good cause! During this event, McDonald's will donate 20% of all drive-through and dine-in sales to the Friends of the Library! 
Stop into the dining room to see us, and purchase a $5 cookie certificate (or two, or three!). Certificates can be redeemed for a baker's dozen of freshly-baked cookies - perfect for taking to a party or cookout!

While children's programming is most going back to normal now that Summer Reading is over, we still have a couple Movie Mondays left! Titles can be found on our website: https://www.maquoketa.lib.ia.us/srp2022/kids

Highlights
Do you follow our Facebook page? Some of our most popular posts are book riddles, where the titles of library books are clues to the title of a book and/or movie. We've done over 200 since lockdown in 2020. See a few of them below. Answers are at the bottom of the newsletter.
In cased you missed it last month, museum passes are back! The Friends of the Maquoketa Public Library have purchased museum passes to the Figge Museum, Putnam Museum, and the Jackson County Historical Society. The Figge Museum museum belongs to NARM, the North American Reciprocal Museum Association, and will get you into a number of museums around the country. Find out more here. The JCHS belongs to the Time Travelers network, which offers discounts on admissions at a number of other museums. Find out more here.
Museum passes are available on a first come, first served basis. You must have a library card in good standing. Checkout is for three days. If you need special accommodations, we will do our best to work with you.
